Steven Victor Tallarico was born on 26 March, 1948 at Stuyvesant Polyclinic in Manhattan, New York to Italian father and Ukrainian mother. His father was Victoria A. Tallarico, a classical musician and pianist and mother was Susan Roy , secretary. Tyler went to Roosevelt High School on Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers, New York, about a mile from his house, but was expelled just before graduation for marijuana use. He later graduated from Quintano’s Young Professionals School.

Tyler had a relationship with fashion model Bebe Buell and couple had a daughter from relationship was born in 1977.
In 1978 he was married to Cyrinda Foxe , was a former wife of New York Dolls lead singer David Johansen. Cyrinda and Tyler had one daughter-Mia Tyler from this marriage. In 1987 they divorced , her wife released Dream On: Livin’ on the Edge . A memoir of her life with Steven Tyler and Aerosmith. Foxe died in 2002 from brain cancer.
In 1988, he married with Teressa Barrick and couple had one son, Taj and one daughter, Chelsea. After 17 years of marriage couple announced their separation and divorced in 2006.
Again he came in relationship with Erin Brady and in 2013 they broke their relation.
