Raveena Tandon is the famous face of 90’s Hindi films. She started her career in Modelling and started her first debut with the movie ’Pathar Ke Phool’ which was a hit movie at the box office and she received the Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year. She gave many hits in countless movies-Mohra(1994), Laadla(1994), Imitihaan(1994), Andaaz Apna Apna(1994), Khiladiyin Ka Khiladi(1996), Ziddi(1997), Salaakhen(1998), Shool(1999), Bulandi(2000), Aks(2001), Satta(2003), Dobara(2004).
She won many awards – Best Supporting Actress, Best Actress Award, Special Performance Award. She is married to Anil Thandani in the year 2004 by Punjabi traditions. She is blessed with two children. In the year 2005, she became a mother of a daughter and in the year 2008, she gave birth to a son. In the year 2014, she made came back in the ‘Bombay Velvet’ movie. Before her marriage, in the year 1995, she adopted two girls Chhaya and Pooja, and became a single mother. She has produced 2 movies and hosted on Television programs ‘ Isi Ka Nam Zindagi’, ‘Just Baatien with Raveena’. In the reality show ‘Sabse Bada Kalakar’ and ‘The Drama Company’, she appeared as a judge.
Recently, in one of the interviews, she spoke about her past rivalries with their co-stars Karishma Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Kajol. She refuse it and said that they have been friends. Raveena added that she does not have any sour relationship with them. Few actors played dirty games and were a part of dirty gossip. She said that I and Shilpa Shetty have been friends from day 1 and have been the same with Kajol.
In the interview, she also talked about her other co-actors-Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar. She told about Salman Khan-“her first hero will always be special and will always have a special space place in her heart”. She also talked about Sanjay Dutt, by saying that he was her second crush after Rishi Kapoor. She told that he is one of her ‘most favorite’ co-actor. After that when she asked about Akshay, she expressed that he is one of the pillars of this film industry. She is fond of Akshay’s dedication towards his work.
Raveen Tandon has been involved in off-screen work too also. She was the chairperson of the ‘Children’s Film Society of India’. In the year 2002, she supported “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals”.
