Matt Leblanc is an American actor, television  producer and comedian. He is famous for his role  of Joey  Tribbiani  in the NBC  sitcom Friends and in its spin-off series  Joey.

Biography

Matt’s full name is  Matthew Steven  LeBlanc. He was born on 25 July, 1967 in Newton, Massachusetts.  His father  Paul LeBlanc  was a French Canadian  mechanic and mother  Patricia was an office  manager. He belongs to mixed ethinicity as his  father is of French-Canadian descent and his mother is of Italian ancestry. He graduated from Newton North High School in the same year as future comedian Louis C.K. He went to Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston after high school. Shortly after beginning his second semester, he dropped out. At the age of 17, LeBlanc came to New York to pursue a modelling career, but he was informed he was too short for the business.

Career

His acting career began when he was requested to accompany a woman to an audition, where he was signed by her management. He was reportedly down to his last eleven dollars before earning the role of Joey Tribbiani, despite having landed commercials, television and film roles prior to Friends.LeBlanc originally appeared in an ad for Heinz Tomato Ketchup in 1987. For one season in 1988, he starred in the television drama TV 101. He had a recurring role on Fox’s smash sitcom Married… with Children in 1991. He portrayed Vinnie Verducci, a family friend of protagonist Al Bundy (Ed O’Neill) who dates his daughter, Kelly, for a brief period of time (Christina Applegate). He also appeared in the first season of Red Shoe Diaries as a guest star. Top of the Heap (1991) and Vinnie & Bobby (1992) were two short-lived Married… with Children spin-offs in which LeBlanc starred (1992). In 1990, he participated in two Bon Jovi music videos: “Miracle,” from the Young Guns II soundtrack, and “Say It Isn’t So,” from the Say It Isn’t So soundtrack in 2000. He also made cameo appearances in the music videos for Alanis Morissette’s “Walk Away” and Bob Seger’s “Night Moves”. 

LeBlanc rose to fame as the bumbling yet endearing Joey Tribbiani on Friends, a role he played for 12 years spanning 10 seasons of Friends and two seasons of Joey. LeBlanc has been nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and one Screen Actors Guild Award. He also appeared in Lookin’ Italian (1994), Ed (1996), Lost in Space (1998), Charlie’s Angels (2000), and its sequel, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, during this time (2003). After Joey was cancelled, Matt LeBlanc announced a one-year vacation from acting on television, which lasted into five years.Episodes, a television series about an American copy of a fictional British television series, starred LeBlanc as a fictionalised version of himself beginning in 2011.

Friends co-creator David Crane and his collaborator Jeffrey Klarik wrote the series. LeBlanc was nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series, Musical, or Comedy at the 69th Golden Globe Awards in 2012. In February 2012, LeBlanc made his Top Gear debut in the second episode of the eighteenth series, driving a Kia Cee’d and setting the quickest lap time in the “Star in a Reasonably Priced Car” segment. He broke the show’s previous record-holder, Rowan Atkinson, by 0.1 seconds, lapping in 1:42.1. He again raced the New Kia Cee’d in the fourth episode of the nineteenth season, and beat his prior time.

LeBlanc was revealed as one of the new Top Gear hosts by the BBC in February 2016, and he signed a two-year deal later that year. He announced his decision to leave the show in May 2018, after three years as a co-host.

Matt married to  Melissa  McKnight , a British-born  American  model . But in year 2003 couple divorced.Matt and Melissa have two children.Laterly, he proposed  Melissa’s friend  Kelly  Philips  who was wife  of actor  Lou  Diamond  Philips. Matt and Kelly has  one daughter was born in 2004. Matt and Kelly divorced in 2006.
