Mackenzie Scott is an American novelist and philanthropist. Scott won an American Book Award for her debut novel, The Testing of Luther Albright, published in 2005. Traps, her second novel, was released in 2013. She has been the executive director of the anti-bullying organisation Bystander Revolution since its inception in 2014.

Mackenzie Scott was born on April 7, 1970 in San Francisco, California, U.S. to Jason Baker Tuttle and Holiday Tuttle. His father was a financial planner and mother was homemaker. At the age of 6, she wrote the novel of 142 pages- The Book Worm. She was graduated from Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut. Tuttle received her bachelor’s degree in English from Princeton University in 1992, where she studied under Nobel Laureate Toni Morrison. She also assisted Morrison with research for his 1992 novel Jazz.
Career
Scott published her first novel, The Testing of Luther Albright, in 2005, and won an American Book Award for it in 2006. She claimed that it took her ten years to write because she was helping Bezos build Amazon while also giving birth to and raising three children. Her former teacher, Toni Morrison, called the book “a rarity: a sophisticated novel that breaks and swells the heart.” Traps, her second novel, was released in 2013. She and her husband moved to Seattle and they started working in Amazon.
Scott stayed out of the business, preferring to focus on her family and literary career.

Scott’s marital status is married. She was married to Jess Bezos . founder of Amazon and Blue Origin. Couple have four children-one daughter (adopted) and three sons, later they divorced. Now she is married to Dan Jewett , high school chemistry teacher .
