Kevin Durant was step into the world on 29 Sep, 1988 in Washington, D.C to parents Wanda and Wayne Pratt. When he was infant his parnts divorced. He has three siblings, one sister- Brianna and two brothers-Tony and Rayvonne. Durant and his siblings grew up on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Durant aspired to play for his favourite team, the Toronto Raptors, which had Vince Carter, his favourite player. He was a member of many AAU basketball teams in the Maryland area, where he played alongside future NBA stars Michael Beasley, Greivis Vásquez, and Ty Lawson, the first of whom Durant is still friends with today. Durant switched to Montrose Christian School for his final year after playing two years of high school basketball at National Christian Academy and one year at Oak Hill Academy.
He said he was considering Duke University, University of Kentucky, and University of Louisville after visiting the University of Connecticut and University of North Carolina.
He was selected the Washington Post All-Met Basketball Player of the Year and the 2006 McDonald’s All-American Game’s Most Valuable Player.
