Biography

Lopez was born in New York City on July 24, 1969, and grew up in the Bronx’s Castle Hill area. David López and Guadalupe Rodrguez, her parents, were born in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States as children. David worked as a computer technician at Guardian Insurance Company after serving in the army. For the first ten years of Lopez’s existence, Guadalupe was a stay-at-home mom who later worked as a Tupperware salesperson and a kindergarten and gym teacher.
