Jameela Jamil is an English actress, presenter and activist. She is famous for her roles as Tahani AI-Jamil in the NBC fantasy comedy series The Good Place.

Biography
Jameela was born on 25 February, 1986 in Hampstead, London . Her parents father Ali Jamil is Pakistani and mother Shireen Jamil is Pakistani-British. At the age of 5 she was diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a genetic disorder affecting the connective tissue in the body and that she was diagnosed with coeliac disease when she was 12 years old. She claims she was hit by a car while fleeing a bee when she was 17 years old, shattering multiple bones and injuring her spine. She recalls being told she might never walk again, but steadily recovering following steroid treatment and physiotherapy, eventually walking with the aid of a Zimmer frame. She went to Queen’s College School in London, but due to an injury, she was unable to complete her A-Levels. She went on to teach English to foreign students for two years at the Callan School of English in London, according to her.
Career
Jameela started her career as a teacher and then she was discovered by a producer at a bar and asked for audition as a presenter. Jamil first featured on Music Zone on E4, Channel Four’s youth channel, towards the end of 2008. In 2009, she started presenting for Channel 4’s T4 youth show.
