Jameela Jamil is an English actress, presenter and activist. She is famous for her roles as Tahani AI-Jamil in the NBC fantasy comedy series The Good Place.
Jameela was born on 25 February, 1986 in Hampstead, London . Her parents father Ali Jamil is Pakistani and mother Shireen Jamil is Pakistani-British. At the age of 5 she was diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a genetic disorder affecting the connective tissue in the body and that she was diagnosed with coeliac disease when she was 12 years old. She claims she was hit by a car while fleeing a bee when she was 17 years old, shattering multiple bones and injuring her spine. She recalls being told she might never walk again, but steadily recovering following steroid treatment and physiotherapy, eventually walking with the aid of a Zimmer frame. She went to Queen’s College School in London, but due to an injury, she was unable to complete her A-Levels.
