Gillian Jacobs is an  American actress and director. Britta Perry on the NBC comedy series Community (2009–2015), Mickey Dobbs on the Netflix romantic comedy series Love (2016–2018), and Atom Eve on the Amazon animation series Invincible are among her most well-known performances (2021).


Gillian Jacobs was born on 19 October,1982  in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter  of Martina  Magenau Jacobs  and  William F Jacobs  Jr. Her mother  worked in  alumni relations at  Carnegie Mellon University and father  was an Investment Banker. Her father was  died in 2013, so she was raised by her mother. Jacobs began acting lessons at the age of four and continued to attend weekend acting workshops at the Pittsburgh Playhouse throughout his childhood. She was a regular contestant in the Pittsburgh Public Theater’s Shakespeare Monologue Contest, which led to her being cast as Titania in the company’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She went to New York City after graduating from Mt. Lebanon High School in 2000 to attend the Juilliard School, where she received a BFA in 2004.


She began her acting career  in television series  The Book of  Daniel as  Adele  Congreve.  She played the role of  Kim  in the pilot of Traveler. After that she appeared in the  Fringe  and Law & Order as a guest role. In 2006, she appeared  in an Off-Off -Broadway  production of  Christopher  Denham’s cagelove. Jacobs has acted in plays such as The Fabulous Life of a Size Zero (2007), A Feminine Ending (2007), and The Little Flower of East Orange (2007). (2008). Britta Perry, a high school dropout who dreams to be a psychologist, joined the cast of the NBC single-camera comedy series Community in March 2009. Blackbird (2007), Choke (2008), Gardens of the Night (2008), The Box (2009), Revenge for Jolly! (2012), Bad Milo! (2013), Walk of Shame (2014), The Lookalike (2014), Life Partners (2014), Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015), Visions (2015), Don’t Think Twice (2016), and Brother Nature (2016) are just a few of her film credits. Sta’abi from Nickelodeon’s Monsters vs. Aliens and Atom Eve from Amazon Prime’s animated action series Invincible were among the characters she voiced (2021). Community was renewed for a sixth season by Yahoo! Screen in June 2014. Jacobs was cast as Mickey in Netflix’s original comedy series Love in 2014. The Queen of Code, a 2015 documentary short on computer scientist and US Navy rear admiral Grace Hopper, was directed by Jacobs. Jacobs co-starred in Janicza Bravo’s first feature film, Lemon, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2017. Jacobs appears in Kris Rey’s comedy-drama film I Used to Go Here, which was released in 2020. She directed “Higher, Further, Faster” for Marvel’s 616, a documentary series examining Marvel Comics’ cultural impact, in 2020. Periodic Talks, a STEM-focused podcast she and co-host Diona Reasonover launched on Stitcher Radio in February 2021. Christine “Ziggy” Berman played a supporting part in the Netflix horror flicks Fear Street trilogy in July 2021.
