Genesis’s full name is Genesis Rodriguez Perez. She was born on 29 July, 1987 in Miami, Florida. She is the daughter of mother Luisa Carolina whose nickname is ‘EL Puma’ and father Jose Luis Rodriguez. Her father is a Cuban model and mother is a Venezuelan actor and singer. She has two half sisters-Liliana Rodriguez and Lilibeth Morillo. She completed her school education from Carrollton School of Sacred Heart, Miami and The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute , West Hollywood, California from where she took classes in acting suring summer classes.
Career
From November 2005 to January 2006, she had a recurring role on the NBC daytime drama Days of Our Lives. She also appeared as a returning special guest on Bravo’s Top Chef. Rodriguez discovered Spanish-language roles in the prime time series Dame Chocolate, where she portrayed dual leads Rosita Amado and Violeta Hurtado. In 2012, Rodriguez played Will Ferrell’s love interest in the comedy film Casa de Mi Padre, a pastiche of 1970s Mexican soap operas. She followed that up with a role as harsh FBI Agent Ellen Richards in the action thriller The Last Stand in 2013, as well as a role as Marisol in the comedy Identity Thief. Rodriguez voiced Honey Lemon in the Disney animated film Big Hero 6 in 2014. She made her acting debut in the music video for Romeo Santos’ song Héroe Favorito in February 2017.
