Early Life & Biography
Gary Edward “Garrison” Keillor was born on 7 August,1942 in Anoka , Minnesota to parents Grace Ruth and John Philip Keillor. He has five siblings and he is on third number among three brothers and two sisters. His father worked as a carpenter and a postal worker. His paternal grandparents was from Kingston, Ontario and maternal grandparents were scottish emigrants from Glasgow. Keillor graduated from Anoka High School in 1960 and earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Minnesota in 1966. He began his broadcasting career while still in college at Radio K, a student-run radio station.

Keillor was married three times. In 1965 he was married to Mary Guntzel and couple had one son , was born in 1969. But his marriage life was ended in 1976. In 1985, he was married to Ulla Skaerved but again this marriage unsuccessful and ended in year 1990. In 1995, he was married to classical string player Jenny Lind Nilsson . Couple have one daughter-Maya Grace Keillor.
He had relationship with Margaret Moos, who was the producer of A Prairie Home Companion.
