2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport Christmas Cabin

Land Rover offers a new solution for off-grid shelter with their cold-weather Christmas cabin that can fit comfortably in the cargo area of the Discovery Sport. It offers 11.5 square feet of space, enough sleeping area for two adults. It was tested to -4 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 degrees Celsius) in Land Rover's own cold climate testing chamber by 12x Mount Everest climber Kenton Cool.

The cabin is built from wood and features a solar panel on the roof, with lights and a kettle that can be plugged into the Discovery Sport's 12V power socket. Small porthole windows offer all-around visibility while minimizing heat loss.

The Discovery Sport is Land Rover's best selling model, and also the smallest. This gave an extra challenge to the development team to make the cabin break down as compactly as possible.
