2017 Chrysler Portal Concept

The Chrysler Portal Concept made its first appearance at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January. The Portal is a vision of future family transport for the millennial generation (1981-1997) based on the traits of that generation. They are environmentally conscious, so the Portal is fully electric. They are price competitive in their purchases, so the Portal will be suitable for tighter budgets. And they are comfortable with technology, and the Portal is loaded to the gills with the newest tech, including semi-autonomous driving.

There are over 20 technologies meant to interact with driver and passengers, including Personal Zoned Audio, which enhances sound and directionality; facial recognition and voice biometrics, so the car can accomodate individual users based on their history of preferences; and V2X communication, which allows the vehicle to communicate with infrastructure and other vehicles to recognize traffic signs, emergency vehicles, and crash warnings,

The Portal has a range of over 250 miles, and more impressively the ability to gain an additional 150 miles with only 20 minutes of charging thanks to a 350 kW DC Fast Charge.
