2019 Bugatti Chiron Sport

The Chiron is already the most intense Bugatti road car ever created, and now they are offering a more track-oriented variant, the Chiron Sport. The Sport shares the Chiron's over-the-top power output of 1479 hp from its 8 liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine. There is a small weight reduction of about 40 lbs, dropping the 4400 lb hypercar down to 4360 lbs. It retains the original car's standard performance figures such as 0-60 mph in 2.4 seconds which is just about enough for anyone other than a handful of world-class drivers. Bugatti kept these characteristics to allow for a car that is still quite roadworthy.

Where the Chiron Sport shines is in handling and cornering speeds. It can lap the Nardo handling circuit a full 5 seconds faster than the Chiron. These improvements come from a new dynamic handling package with a stiffer suspension, including shock absorbers which are 10% stiffer than those on the Chiron. What is nice is that these changes only appear in the Handling mode of the Chiron Sport. A new Dynamic Torque Vectoring function that distributes torque individually to each wheel is available in all driving modes.

The weight reduction comes by way of the new lightweight wheels and increased use of carbon fiber. It is the first production car to have a carbon fiber windshield wiper, which is 77% or 3 lbs lighter than the one on the Chiron.
