2017 BMW Concept Z4

For several years now, Toyota and BMW have been working together on what they call the "Silk Road" project, which will ultimately give us a shared platform for the next generation Z4 as well as the new Supra due in 2018.

Compared to the current Z4, the Concept Z4 is more dramatically sculpted. A shark nose front lowers the clamshell hood into an aerodynamic wedge, while the familiar BMW kidney grille design features an aesthetic 3D mesh. Below the grille are 3 large air intakes with at least as much surface area as the grille. Air breathers aft the front wheels influence the body shape along the side.

The interior has a intriguing split design that will hopefully be available, at least as an option, on the production Z4. Here the driver seat and portion of the dash is primarily black, while the passenger seat and dash section is of a softer material matching the exterior Energetic Orange color.
