(from Oxigin Press Release) Dynamic Duo: VW Golf 7 GTI Clubsport with OXIGIN 20 Attraction wheels

The Golf 7 GTI Clubsport is a special edition to mark the 40th anniversary of VW’s iconic hot hatch. A spare time project of some VW engineers, which then gained approval from the Board, the original GTI first saw the light of day in 1976.

That car had a 1.6 litre fuel-injected engine good for 110 hp, which was a lot in those days. The GTI Clubsport 2.0-litre turbocharged engine sends a lusty 265 horsepower to the front wheels, with up to 290 hp on tap in short-term overboost. This is more than double the power of the original ‘70s GTI.

The Clubsport takes some styling cues from its ancestor in the form of black trim on its bumpers, the tartan checked sports seat inserts, red topstitching, and its golf ball gearknob.

However, even these distinctive features were not enough for the owner of the VW Golf 7 GTI Club Sport in the photos, and even as he was waiting for his car to arrive he was making plans for its individualisation.

Enter OXIGIN, the alloy wheel specialists. Almost at the same time as the car arrived, the set of 8.5x19-inch OXIGIN 20 Attraction alloy wheels, custom wrapped in red and white foil over gloss black according to the customers wishes, was also delivered!

A week later, the GTI Clubsport passed into the hands of Schalk-Tuning in Hettstedt where KW Clubsport coilover suspension with variable front top mounts, and the OXIGIN 20 Attraction-wheels were fitted.

Then Wrap Carstyles of Sangerhausen applied a digitally printed and red and black colour-coded foil design to give the impression the bodywork has been scratched by huge claws.

Finally, to lower exhaust backpressure, Schalk-Tuning fitted a Bull X-Downpipe with 200-cell HJS catalyst, and a Remus sports exhaust system. The result is a unique GTI Clubsport with better handling and performance and even more individual looks.
