(from Kicherer Press
Release) KICHERER’s product range has the perfect sports
package for any Mercedes in store and even satisfies more
extravagant needs. Even now, the tuners from Stockach have
taken the new SL 63 / 65 AMG under their wings.
In the KICHERER version,
the sporty naturally aspirated engine benefits from a performance
increased by about 40 hp and 40 Nm. Consequently, this awesome
powertrain disposes of more than 560 hp and comes up with a torque
of more than 670 Nm. Thus equipped, the KICHERER SL 63 accelerates
from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 320
km/h.
At the same time, the
EVO sports exhaust system eroticises its environment with a deeply
saturated and thudding sound – without being so obtrusive as to get
on the drivers nerves after a while.
Combined with the
electronic chassis optimisation, the ultra-light 20“ RS-1 aluminium
wheels guarantee a perfect grip in any driving situation.
A diffuser made of
genuine carbon calms the storms that rage at the KICHERER SL’s rear
end at high speeds and provides the coupé-convertible with a
significantly optimised downforce. Further aerodynamic subtleties
are brought about by the front apron coverings which are also made
of carbon.
The carbon mirror
shells, however, are telling visual expressions of the roadster’s
new sportiness.
In August 2008, the
second stage will be accomplished: An all-carbon rear lid with
an electronically
extendable rear spoiler will be available by then. It will provide
the “Super” SL with an even better high speed handling.
