The Subaru R1e,
introduced in 2003, has gone through a number of incarnations.
It is expected to go on sale sometime in 2010. Features
include a lithium-ion battery that can be charged to 80% capacity in
15 minutes with a special rapid charger.

tool that fits well with personal use in the urban life, the Subaru
R1e features a 2 + 2 layout packaging. The Electric Vehicle (EV)
power unit uses a high-performance battery and advanced power
control technology with consideration given to the environment as
well.
